D-Day Menu

We always have a weekly specials board at the Volunteer Inn, and we love to create something themed when we can.

6th June marks the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. This is the day, in 1944, when over 160,000 Allied troops landed in France to fight Germany on the Normany beaches in Operation Overlord.

Over 5000 ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the troops during the invasion, which allowed the Allies to begin the liberation of Western Europe. More than 9,000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded during the invasion and many thousands of civilians also lost their lives.

To mark this anniversary, the Volunteer has created a special D-Day menu. You’ll be able to enjoy spam fritters, and wartime hot pot!

Valentine’s Week Specials

This year, instead of a Valentine’s Day menu, we are offering a Valentine’s Week Specials Board from Monday 11th February.

Choose as you would normally, with no set price.

On Valentine’s Day itself, Thursday 14th February, we will give diners a free glass of Prosecco!

Kitchen Takeover – Joe Draper

We’re delighted to welcome Joe Draper as our guest chef on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th July in the evening, and for Sunday lunch on 9th July.

Joe is our third guest chef, and like Robin Rea and Tim Maddams, committed to local sourcing and seasonal ingredients. We’re sure you’ll love his menu.
