  1. Veterans Monthly Breakfast

    Our monthly fundraising ‘Veterans Breakfast’!

During the special Remembrance Sunday in 2018 which marked 100 years since Armistice Day, a group of Veterans got together in the pub and discussed the lack of wreaths.

Everyone agreed it would be a good idea to club together for an Ottery Veterans wreath – and what better way than to have a monthly breakfast?!

Our first breakfast was in February, then we met in April and May. The next breakfast coincides with the Ottery Food & Families Festival on June 1st.

The breakfast is for Veterans only and if you would like to join in, you will need to get in touch with Rob McGovern – message via Facebook please.

The Veterans Breakfast is on the first Sunday of the month. We meet at the Volunteer at 10.30.

It costs £10 for the breakfast of which £3 goes into the collection towards the wreath. As we grow we hope funds raised will also be able to support local Veterans in need.

  2. Jumping for FORCE

    Good luck Jenny!

We are very proud that landlord Mike’s mum Jenny has agreed to take part in a tandem skydive to raise money for FORCE Cancer Charity on June 4th.

The fundraising event has been organised by John Hounsell from Ottery, who is going through treatment for cancer. The target is £10K for this wonderful charity that helps so many.

A whole group of brave folk will be taking part in the skydive, which is a 15000ft tandem skydive (fortunately everyone taking part will be jumping with a professional skydiver – phew!).

This year FORCE celebrates 30 years of support to Exeter RD&E hospital, and we would all love to raise the target for them.

So go on, support Mike’s mum (please not Mike’s not jumping himself….). Click here to donate: REACH FOR THE SKY

Thank you so much and good luck to all those taking part. Don’t look down!
